1. IELTS Intensive Plus Test Preparation Course

Course Description

The IELTS Intensive Test Preparation Course is for those who are planning to complete the IELTS test in the near future. This course is for students who are Upper-Intermediate level or higher in our General English Program and are aiming for test scores between 6.5 and 7.5. These courses use texts created by Cambridge University (who also design the IELTS test itself) and this is a skills-based course which selects sub-skills which you will find used in the IELTS test and teaches students to hone these skills. The course provides a balance between the four main skills (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking), allowing for significant focus on each skill. The course provides practice with tasks which are in the test combined with a focus on building English pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar skills which will raise your IELTS test score.

Course Structure

The course is divided into eight units. It consists of 80 hours of online classroom instruction and interaction time with a native-speaking teacher. That means that it is an intensive course so students receive ten hours of IELTS preparation and language instruction each week.

Assessment and Feedback

The course is supplemented with homework assignments which are checked by the teacher and formative feedback is provided during class time. Mock testing will be incorporated into week 6 and 7 and a progress report will be issued at the end of the 8-week course for those who have attended at least 50% of the course hours.

Teaching Methodology

Edulink World teachers mix the Communicative teaching approach, which emphasises acquiring language through participating in authentic interactive activities such as speaking test practice, with other approaches like the Lexical approach, which is valuable for building vocabulary, to ensure that students are able to attain the best IELTS score possible.

The Cambridge Mindset Student’s Book comes with an activation code which provides access to many online resources including extra practice for each skill online and access to Cambridge online practice tests.

2. IELTS Skill Builder Program

Program Description

The IELTS Skill Builder Program is for those who are planning to complete the IELTS test in the near future. There are three courses in this program which allow those preparing for the IELTS test to focus on individual skills. The three courses are, IELTS Skill Builder - Writing, IELTS Skill Builder - Speaking, and IELTS Skill Builder - Reading & Listening. In these courses you will receive advice about how to approach a specific test task, you will practice with real past IELTS tests, and you will receive feedback on how well you have done and how you can improve. This will increase your ability to succeed in the different parts of the IELTS test. You can take one of these courses, two of these courses, or all three, depending on your own specific development needs.

Program Structure

• IELTS Skill Builder - Writing - This course is divided into 16 lessons. Eight lessons focus on IELTS Writing Task 1, and eight lessons focus on IELTS Writing Task 2. The course is 4 weeks long and there are two Task 1 lessons and two Task 2 lessons each week. It consists of 40 hours of classroom instruction and interaction time with a native-speaking teacher. You will complete a mock test for each Task every week and full Writing mock tests in the middle and at the end of the course.
• IELTS Skill Builder - Speaking - This course is divided into 8 lessons. The course is 4 weeks long and there are two lessons each week. You will focus on each part of the speaking test with mock tests for each part every week and a full mock test in the final week. It consists of 20 hours of classroom instruction and interaction time with a native-speaking teacher.
• IELTS Skill Builder - Reading & Listening - This course is divided into 8 lessons. The course is 4 weeks long and there are two lessons each week, one for reading and one for listening. You will practice part of a real test in each lesson with a full mock test for each skill in the final week. It consists of 20 hours of classroom instruction and interaction time with a native-speaking teacher.

We provide various options for IELTS courses, including live online classes led by native English speakers via Zoom. By choosing this option, you can study alongside international peers from Myanmar and Thailand, gaining exposure to different cultures while learning English from anywhere. Our courses are offered in 6 intakes per year: February, April, June, August, October, and December. The upcoming intake will begin on 28 April 2028. Additionally, we are preparing to offer onsite learning at the Edulink World campus in Bangkok for students in Thailand soon.
